How we run this
How AIiHC is run
Everything below is how AIiHC actually works today, not how it might work one day.
AIiHC is run by a small team, the founder and the AIiHC moderators, and we keep it small and hands-on on purpose. Some of it will change as the community grows, and when it does we say so in Announcements.
1. Every question gets a reply
| Channel | First reply within |
|---|---|
| Ask AIiHC · Introductions | 2 working days |
| AI Use & Professional Judgement · Governance & Accountability | 3 working days |
| Requests & Ideas | 5 working days, with yes, no or later |
If nobody here has done the thing you are asking about, we will say so plainly instead of leaving you waiting. As the community grows these windows will grow with it, and when they change we will say so in Announcements. What will not change is that your question gets an answer.
Two more things about posting
In two channels, your post is checked before it appears. In Cases & Near-Misses and AI Solutions, a moderator reads it first. Not to edit it, but because those two rooms carry the most risk. Everywhere else, your post is live the moment you press post. If that ever changes anywhere, we say so in Announcements, with the reason. You should never find out by noticing your post did not appear.
If we are away for leave, illness or a conference, we post the dates in Announcements instead of going quiet.
Where to post
Every channel has a description and a pinned post saying what belongs there. You are in the Start & Ask channels from the day you join, and everything else is there to browse and follow when you want it.
If you are not sure where something belongs, post it in Start & Ask. Nobody will mind.
2. If a patient is at risk right now, this is not the place
To be completely clear
Reporting something here is about a post in this community: what somebody wrote, and whether it breaks our rules. AIiHC does not contact your hospital, your employer or your regulator, and nothing you report here is passed to them. Clinical care is between you and your own institution.
3. If something here is wrong: reporting
The detail
Use the Raise a Concern form as the main route. It asks for what a report needs. A direct message to a moderator works in the moment, while you are looking at the post. The Contact Us page reaches us from anywhere, including after you have left.
If you genuinely cannot put your name to something, send it anyway. It will be read. It may not be actionable on its own, but it will count if a pattern appears.
4. What happens to a post that breaks the rules, and how you appeal
| Outcome | When it applies |
|---|---|
| Correction | Wrong channel, a missing affiliation, an unclear post |
| Removal | Promotion, inaccurate evidence claims, unprofessional tone, employer-confidential material |
| Removal and restriction | Patient-identifiable information, a second account, abuse of a member, repeated breach after warning |
What we will not pretend about appeals
AIiHC is small today, so the moderator who made the original decision is usually the one who reviews it. We would rather tell you that than imply an independence we do not yet have. An independent reviewer will be appointed as the community grows.
If your concern is about how AIiHC itself is run, or about the founder, there is currently no route outside the team. We are not pretending otherwise. An independent contact will be named as AIiHC grows, and until then we say so here instead of leaving you to find out.
If a decision touches a moderator's own employer, company or a close collaborator, they say so in the decision itself, and the case is recorded so it can be reopened once an independent reviewer exists.
Anything a moderator posts in public is signed AIiHC Moderator. A restriction has no automatic end date on this platform, but it is reviewable on request. Ask, and it will be looked at again.
5. Who you are talking to
6. Points and badges
Points build up quietly on your profile, and badges follow from them. There is no public ranking table for now. One may appear as the community grows, and we will say so in Announcements before it does.
What points never do
Points and badges never give anyone a title, and never give anyone authority over another member. Contributor, Expert Adviser and Topic Lead are decided by a person who has read what you wrote. Moderating is a separate job, given to named people.
Reacting to your own posts, or trading reactions with somebody, does not work. We watch for it, and it is not what the points are for.
Becoming a contributor
Members whose posts are genuinely useful can be recognised as a Contributor. It is not won on points, and nobody is given it for turning up. A person decides it, after reading what you wrote.
Members can put themselves forward with a short form, which appears here once you are logged in. Not a member yet? Request an invitation
7. Talking about products and companies
The rest of it
Be fair and specific. Say what you saw, in what setting, and what you did about it. Criticism is welcome when you can stand behind it. Write it as you would say it with the vendor in the room.
A product fault is not a post. If something isn't working, raise it with the vendor and through your own hospital first. Once it's handled, the lesson is very welcome here.
Nobody sells here. No promotion, sales approaches or private messages offering services.
Some channels are vendor-free: company staff don't post or comment there. Each channel's pinned post says which kind it is.
