Who does what at AIiHC
AIiHC is three circles, with advisers beside them. Everyone starts as a member and moves inward by taking part.
The three circles
Members
| Title | What it means |
|---|---|
| Member Now | Everyone who joins. Ask, answer, share what happened, follow the channels you need, and suggest what we should build next. Every other role starts here. Members of professional societies are welcome to join as individuals. |
Contributors: recognised for what they give
| Title | What it means |
|---|---|
| Contributor Now | A member who shares experience: answers questions in their field, writes a post, hosts a room or reviews a Guide. Credited each time. Any member can contribute; after two published pieces the team gives you the Contributor role. |
| Topic Lead As we grow | A Contributor who looks after one topic: starts conversations and makes sure questions get answered. |
Contribute your first piece. No application and no expertise beyond your own experience. Propose what you would write on Community Ideas and choose “I’ll do it”. The team replies within three working days, and its go-ahead opens your project on the Contributor Desk. The editors help you shape it, and you can ask for an experienced contributor to write it with you.
Propose something you’d writeThe Team: the people who run it
| Title | What they do |
|---|---|
| Core team Now | Leads the community: its direction, its rules and its decisions, including reviews of moderation. |
| Moderator Now | Keeps the community safe and welcoming: looks after reports within a day and applies the Rules of the Road, across the community or in one channel. |
| Community Lead As we grow | Day-to-day running: welcomes, channels and Guides. |
| Producer As we grow | Puts posts, Guides and recordings in place, and produces rooms and events. |
| Support As we grow | Helps members with how-to questions about the platform. |
Team roles open as the community grows, and members who contribute are the first to be asked.
Advisers
The Advisory Council is a small group of established and specialist people who advise the team on direction, the rules and the Guides.
Societies and partners
Both sit alongside the community, each in a space of its own, on terms agreed with the team.
| Who | What it means |
|---|---|
| Societies and organisations Later | Professional and scientific societies, associations and colleges in healthcare, and healthcare organisations such as hospitals, universities and research groups. One may have its own space for its members. Its people are welcome now as individual members. |
| Company partners Later | Companies that build or sell AI and digital health products and services. Their representatives take part in the spaces set up for companies, answering members’ questions, with the company shown on every post. |
How to get involved
Points and levels: the community’s gamification Starting soon
Taking part earns points (XP). As your points grow you move up nine levels, and each level has its own badge on your profile.
Points come from usefulness, not quantity. Writing a post or a comment earns no points by itself, so posting more does not move you up. The points go to the author when other members react to a post or comment because they found it useful.
Every point is earned automatically, through engagement. The team never adds points or levels by hand, and nobody can buy them. A level reflects real, sustained contribution that others valued.
| You earn points when | XP |
|---|---|
| Someone reacts to your post | 2 |
| Someone reacts to your comment | 1 |
| You complete a Guide | 10 |
| You check in to an event or Working Room | 25 |
| One time only: joining, adding a photo, completing your profile | 5 + 2 + 2 |
Moving up also opens more of the platform: Navigator adds private messages and links, and Connector adds videos. Levels show how much you take part; Contributor and Topic Lead are titles the team gives for what you share.
What contributing gives you
| Return | What it is |
|---|---|
| Credit | Your name on what you wrote or hosted, “With thanks to…” on any Guide you shaped, and co-authorship of any report drawn from your work. |
| A record | A yearly statement of what you contributed, for your CV or appraisal. |
| First look | Draft Guides before they are published, if you help shape them. |
Writing for the blog
Any member can propose a blog post. Propose it on Community Ideas, where you can follow it from review to publication. It is reviewed and published under your name, and it stays yours. Three hundred words on what happened when a tool went live makes a strong first post.
